New Mitsubishi Lancer Evo becomes a hybrid

Sports sedan Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution of following generation can receive the hybrid power-plant similar on a design that which will be presented on conceptual crossover Mitsubishi PX-MiEV, whose debut will take place on the Tokyo motor show. On it informs British edition Autocar referring to own sources in the Japanese motor-car manufacturer.

The hybrid power-plant of prototype Mitsubishi PX-MiEV consists of the 116-strong petrol engine in volume of 1,6 litres, two electromotors power of 82HP which settle down on a forward and back axis of the car, and also the complete set of accumulators.

On small speeds such car is capable to move exclusively by means of electromotors, on high as the traction the internal combustion engine is used, and at braking the system of regeneration of the energy, filling up a charge of batteries joins. Also accumulators can be charged from the usual house socket or at special stations of additional charge.

Besides, the concept car is equipped by system of full drive S-AWC with the new mechanism of distribution of draught between back wheels at the expense of the differential electromotor.

Sources Autocar have not specified about changes in hybrid power-plant PX-MiEV as expediency of application on Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution XI, however, according to some information, unique difference will consist in more powerful petrol unit.

When on sale will appear new Lancer Evo — it's not known.
