New Safari DICOR 2.2 VTT



Tata Motors today announced the launch of a new Safari DICOR 2.2 VTT range, powered by a new 2.2 L direct injection common rail (DICOR) engine. The Safari Dicor 2.2 VTT range starts from Rs 7.27 lakh with an enhanced warranty of two years or 75,000 kms (whichever is earlier).”
The 2.2 VTT Dicor (Direct Injection Common Rail) engine is a 16 valve dual over head camshaft (DOHC) operated by a 32-bit electronic control unit and is equipped with Variable Turbine Technology (VTT).
The company claims this VTT technology raises the maximum power and torque ratings to 140 PS and 320 Nm respectively. Its 4X4 capabilities and in-built safety makes it a pleasure both on-road and off-road. The vehicle is available in two colours namely cycus grey and mountain green with a number of features like tubeless tyres, dual airbags, ABS (Anti Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution), follow me home, reverse guide system etc.

The Safari is amongst the safest SUVs in its category. It meets full frontal crash safety norms of Europe (as per 74/297/EEC) and is available with dual airbags and ABS with EBD in its range. Known for its great off-roading capability with a shift on the fly 4x4 option, high ground clearance and high approach & departure angles, the Safari handles cities and the outdoors with equal ease.

Hero Honda Motors Ltd. (HHML) on Wednesday rolled out its fourth offering in the 150 cc motorcycle segment —" Hunk"
The earlier offerings in the premium segment are: 156 cc CBZ Xtreme, 150 cc Achiever and 225 cc Karizma. At present, the company has a 15-20 per cent share in the premium bike segment.everything remains same as the CBZ-X, apart from the looks! The weight seems to have gone up by 3kgs though.

The new Apache RTR is powered by a 159.7cc engine which develops maximum power of 15.2bhp at 8500 rpm (1.3bhp less than Pulsar 180cc) and a peak torque of 13.1Nm at 6000 rpm (little greater than pulsar 150cc and Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme). The new engine is not just an overbore of the Apache’s 150cc engine. The engine’s stroke was cut down to 52.9 mm and then the bore grew to 62 mm. Sadly, notchy and much complained Apache gearbox has been retained.New petal disc design brakes provides better cooling and warp resistance, reduces unsprung weight (they are lighter than traditional disc brake).

TVS claims the new Apache 160cc RTR can make a top speed of 118kph and can reach 60kph in 4.8s and 100kph in 17.7s.
